bottomless pit

my baby will be 3 months old by the 30th and has already doubled in weight. yes, she did start out considerably smaller than most (4lbs 7oz) but that's quite a feat! the culprit? she loves to eat! especially if it is time for bed. on average she likes to eat 3 oz every two hours, but at times she wants to eat every half hour. I always make her wait then to see if she is really hungry or if it is just gas. I've tried giving her 4oz, but she usually leaves 1oz in the bottom. I love that she is catching up to the other kids her age, I just wish she wouldn't act like I am starving her to death. oh well, at least she is fairly predictable. and if she's not hungry she's happy. but all this eating sure gives her a lot of gas! lol.

late nights

As expected, my baby would keep me up until 5am most nights when she first came home. Then eventually it was only a few times a week, and finally she would usually make it by 3am. By the time she was 2 months she was going to bed by 1am. Now for that she is almost 3months old she wants to stay up until 5am again. I don't know why. I wonder if it is because school just started for her dad and so the only time she sees him is nights and weekends so she wants to stay up and play with him. The only thing is, he will go to bed and she will still be wide awake. Sure, she'll doze off a little, but as soon as I put her in her crib she is wide awake again. She sleeps all day too, no matter what I do. I hope she stops doing this soon. It will make my life much easier. If only I knew better ways to keep her awake during the day, but when she keeps me up all night I don't have the energy to stay awake during the day either.

Spit up scares

About once a week Grace has these bouts of spit up that scare me to death. She spits up so much that it is coming out her nose and she can't breathe. She turns red and tries to cry, but the spit up keeps coming and blocks her airway. I hope this never happens when I am not around to help her. I don't know what causes it, but I suspect it has something to do with formula. Haven't had to do CPR yet, and hope I never will!
