Just thinking

I was just thinking about the evils in the world today. I remember years ago reading something in the scriptures that spoke of the last days. I remember it saying how only righteous women would be willing to bear children. Does anyone else remember reading this? Maybe I will try to find it for you. I know it's there somewhere.

Anyway, with all that is going on, I make a connection to Obama. He is pro abortion, all kinds of abortion. He wants to force church based hospitals to perform abortions even though it goes against their religion. Why? Because he doesn't want to "punish" his daughters "with a baby." So instead, let's punish the baby.

Could you imagine, your only memory of life being cold, unloved, in pain, starving, and left to die in a waste basket? Imagine being pulled from your mother's womb and being killed unmercifully. There are many other horrible things that people are doing to these innocent children of God. I wish they wouldn't do it, how can they be so heartless? It's one thing to terminate because of incest, rape, or preventing death to the mother, but it's another thing carry a child past the first trimester and then decide you don't want them.

Imagine, making this decision. The guilt will follow them their whole life. Wouldn't it? It should. Then what happens when they die? Do you think God will forgive them? Do you think their unborn child will forgive them? I imagine these children will come to their mothers in tears and ask them, "why didn't you want me?" It tears my heart just thinking about it. With all the thousands of mothers out there who cannot have children of their own, why are there so many abortions? Why is it so hard to adopt?

Did you know that most insurance companies will cover an abortion and not fertility help? This is insane! I can name at least 3 women who are close to my heart who would die for the chance to have a little one of their own. They would give everything they have just to say "she's mine" or "that's my boy."

For those of you who are struggling to have a child, know that you are always in my heart. And for those of you who are considering abortion, think of the other people who would benefit from this child's life.

I am one of the lucky ones. I have no problem having babies (as far as I know), and I wouldn't trade Grace for the world. She is my everything. She brightens my day and cheers me up when I am sad. I look at her and I find strength. She is one of God's greatest gifts. If people would only think of the benefits of a child, their hearts would be softened.

Did you know 90% of all Down Syndrome babies are aborted? And that's just one "disability" that people don't want to cope with. Did you know they are trying to legalize "gene selection" so that you can design your child? Yes, it is possible, just not ethical. Can you imagine??

God knows what's best for all of us. If God wants me to have a child with some kind of "disability" I will not question him. I will not "give it back." No matter how scary life can be, if we can't trust God, who can we trust?

Also, to all of you who have adopted/fostered children, I commend you! You are literally life savers! I know it has been hard, but you are doing the best you can and that is what matters most. Keep doing what you are doing and God will bless you.

She's come a long way

Look how much Grace has grown since she was born. Amazing! From 4lbs 7oz and 17in, to 20lbs and 28in!!


She is constantly trying out new sounds, and even trying to whistle! She hasn't quite figured out crawling, but can roll and scoot backwards enough to get where she wants (or gets stuck). She can hold her bottle all by herself and likes to try to "help" pull off her clothes or diaper. She loves to laugh and sing. He favorite word is "dada" but she likes to say "bubbu" sometimes too. She loves her toys, she pants when she sees them and gives them kisses. Still no teeth, but she is working really hard to get them. She is very social, she loves to talk to other babies and watch them play.

Going green, or going crazy?

Well, I did it. I started using cloth diapers! I haven't switched completely, but we're hoping to only use disposables for trips to the grocery store until we get enough to switch completely! We've even thought about making our own baby food, but let's not get ahead of ourselves here. For now we will stick to the diapers. If any of you are thinking about switching let me know, I know lots of great places to get diapers! Oh, and you can't really find them in stores. Currently we are using Bum Genius and G-diapers (with a Gerber prefold). Grace is modeling her G-diaper. Happy diapering!

My favorite place to play

Some how Grace always finds her way under the coffee table. Doesn't matter where she starts, she usually ends up here. I think the little red marks (cheek and forehead) are bug bites. Yes, those are my feet.
