Catching up

A lot has happened recently, hence the lack of posts.
Erik got accepted to Willamette school of law in Oregon and we're headed there the end of June.

My granny passed away :(

And David turned 1. He started out about 8.5lbs 21inches and is now 24lbs and 31inches. He is not walking yet but is really working hard. He also says a few words: ball, bath, go, more, bottle, bye, hi, mama, dada, and Grace. to other people they don't sound like words though. He recently started waving and clapping and loves to give hugs and kis
ses. He is a very happy and healthy child and we are happy to have him.

My 25 things before I turn 25 list

Tomorrow is my birthday, and last year I made a list of things to do before I turned 25 (got the idea from Brit) let's see how I did.

1. stop procrastinating (working on it)
2. have a healthy baby (no sooner than 34 weeks!) he was 36
3. finish Grace's quilt (need to recut it)
4. reach 70 puppets I've made 75 contemplating another
5. witness Grace take her first steps
6. get Grace to eat better (still working on it, made minimal progress)
7. get myself to eat better (some days are better than others)
8. do more service does visiting teaching count?
9. spend less time on the computer hard with online school
10. spend more time on things that matter (family, church, friends) still working on it
11. keep up on housework better (on going task)
12. make my apartment more "homey" working on my parents' house
13. upload some pictures from my childhood onto facebook
14. keep a baby journal for both kids (Grace already has one mostly full)
15. order more prints
16. get a family portrait got it but not loving it
17. call family more often I now live with family so I don't call them much
18. be more active (trying)
19. recruit more sewing "students" one starting soon
20. get back to pre Grace weight after the new baby comes (2lbs to go)
21. rearrange my living room
22. clean/rearrange our bedroom need to do it again
23. make some "real" clothes do costumes count?
24. drive somewhere
25. go outside at least 2 times a week this summer (grocery shopping and church don't count)I don't think I did.

Sundays

It's funny, the Sundays you really don't want to go seem to be the most spiritually feeding. Today all the talks and lessons were exactly what I needed to hear. I'm not a "super mormon" by any stretch of the imagination, but today the spirit weighed heavily on my heart (in a good way). The icing on the cake, as it were, was in RS. The lesson was on Elder Bednar's 2006 conference talk (Nothing shall offend them). It eased my aching heart and put my life into a new perspective. I believe everyone should read this, especially after recent events following Elder Packer's talk this fall. Imagine how much easier life would be if we never got offended, the weight on our shoulders would be substantially lighter. A daunting task at best, I think I'll give it a go. Who's with me?!

good times

we spent Thanksgiving in Colorado with Erik's family. the kids had a blast! David learned how to sit up and loved playing in his dinner. We tried to get a group shot (the two on the right are mine), but it's hard to get 4 kids to sit still! David now has 1 tooth! hooray!

I love this one! silly Grace and her rolly eyes!
