feeling good

a few weeks ago I volunteered to make a dress for a girl I know who said she was sad she couldn't afford a christmas dress for her baby. by the time I finished it I was debating keeping it for my own baby, but I knew that wasn't right. so instead I tried it on my baby and took some pictures, she looked beautiful but the dress would probably fit only a few more weeks. I am glad I made the right choice, I just hope my friend likes it as much as I do. she doesn't know who it's from, so if you know her please don't tell her, I want to post pictures, but that would be too obvious as to who has my dress. I don't mean to brag, it was just on my mind the last few days. I still wonder if I made the right choice, but I think I did. I was debating on giving them the dress my mom bought at DI for us, it isn't nearly as cute. oh well. I can always make another dress, but it will have to be different material because I don't have enough of the other. If you know anyone else who might want a dress I have a pattern for up to 18 months I think....I'd have to check. then again, with the moving (still don't know where) it might be hard to squeeze in yet another project...hmm. I will post a picture of the dress after I move (if that is appropriate??).

see how much I've grown!

In the 3 short months that Grace has been home (now she is 16 weeks old), she has gained a lot of weight!
She came home at a month old weighing somewhere around 6lbs, and is now pushing somewhere close to 13 or 14lbs! She went from size preemie to a size 3-6. Not to mention that she started at 4lbs 7oz, and was too small for the preemie clothes. Good job, Grace!

Generations of fun

Yesterday was my Granny's 83rd birthday so we went to Rexburg, Idaho to see her. We didn't stay long, but we had a nice visit. My Granny kept saying how Grace was her little Deanna, because she looked just like me. I was afraid Grace would break my grandparents because she is so big! That was Grace's first long car ride (longest before this was to Salt lake) and I think she handled it better than I did. She slept the whole time, which made for a long night, luckily daddy knew just what to do to get her to sleep. My grandpa is going to be 90 this year. He has lived through 3 cancers, and is currently fighting off two more. No wonder Grace is such a fighter!! After we got home, I realized that I should have gotten a picture with my dad and his mom a few weeks ago when she came to visit. Then again, she probably wouldn't have let us take her picture. Well, I think they look good in their old age.
